Since its inception in 1983, CIS has been at the forefront of interventional cardiovascular research, earning international acclaim through participation in a growing number of research trials. CIS physicians serve as clinical investigators in these trials to research many new and innovative medical devices for patients. Additionally, CIS physicians share their knowledge of new devices by lecturing around the world about the latest methods of treating both cardiac and peripheral arterial disease.

Resistant Hypertension Therapy (Active/Enrolling)

  • The objective of this trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel once-daily oral medication compared to standard therapy in patients with treatment-resistant hypertension who remain uncontrolled on three or more medications.

Renal Denervation Study (Active/Enrolling)

  • To determine the long-term effectiveness of ultrasound renal denervation in safely lowering blood pressure for patients with primary hypertension.

  • To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a next-generation Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) device by demonstrating non-inferiority to currently marketed systems in reducing stroke risk for subjects with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

Pulsed Field Ablation Registry (Active/Enrolling)

  • To assess the clinical outcomes, quality of life improvements, and safety profile of pulsed field ablation (PFA) therapy compared to traditional thermal ablation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

  • To investigate the efficacy of a novel targeted RNA-based therapy in significantly lowering Lipoprotein(a) levels and reducing major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease.

Statin Intolerance Study (Active/Enrolling)

  • To assess the cardiovascular benefits and lipid-lowering capabilities of a new non-statin injectable therapy in high-risk patients who are clinically unable to tolerate traditional statin medications.

  • To compare the long-term patency and limb-salvage rates of drug-coated balloon angioplasty versus standard endovascular therapy in patients with symptomatic Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).

  • To evaluate the safety and potential for improved wound healing and limb preservation using advanced localized therapies in patients suffering from severe Critical Limb Ischemia.

Remote Hemodynamic Monitoring (Active/Enrolling)

  • To study the effectiveness of a wireless, implantable pulmonary artery pressure monitor in reducing heart failure readmissions through proactive, data-driven remote medical management.
